The Illumination Project advocates diverse culture and aims to create a real-time, wide, straightforward and friendly space for SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression).
The project is inspired by the contradiction between the increasingly open and supportive attitude toward LGBT topic in China and LGBT community’s low recognition of support in daily life.
Without geographical and time limit, the tranditional safe zone is redefined and transformed into a carry-on attribute - Live Safe Zone.
When sources of light aggregate, powerful and widespread energy will come into being.
The positive energy is like light source that always surrounds the supporters.
It is depressing to live in closet. But the light source (support) could lead people away from the darkness.
Support towards LGBT community shows lively as lightspot on the map, any move with the supporter. In the map view, LGBT-friendly environment could be easily identified through the number of lightspot.
Simply open Illumination Mode to share location information and express attitudes. Form a dynamic safe zone, no longer subject to physical space constraints.
